Director of Medical Imaging RQHR

 

Headquartered in Regina, the Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region (RQHR) is the largest integrated health care delivery system in Southern Saskatchewan and provides tertiary care to all residents of Saskatchewan.  Beginning December 4, 2017, the Saskatchewan Health Authority will come into being, providing the successful candidate for this position an exciting opportunity to be involved in the development of a provincial Medical Imaging Service from within the Regina Urban Integrated Service Area (ISA), one of six ISAs in the province. This position will report through the VP and Physician Executive of Provincial Programs/Services.

 

Operating in a complex and dynamic healthcare environment which includes two urban tertiary care hospitals, many rural sites, and an association with the College of Medicine, the successful candidate is an innovative, collaborative and transformational leader who will inspire and provide leadership for planning, implementation and coordination of Medical Imaging Services to support RQHR’s strategic goals of quality and safety, access/patient flow and system sustainability.

Director of Medical Imaging

The Director of Medical Imaging is responsible for working in a collaborative model of partnered leadership with the Department Head of Medical Imaging to manage the human, physical and financial resources of the service. Primary areas of responsibility will include but not be limited to; Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computerized Tomography (CT) Scanning, Interventional Radiology, General Radiology, Ultrasound, Mammography and Medical Imaging Information Systems (MIIS). In keeping with the values of compassion, respect, collaboration, knowledge and stewardship, the incumbent will be responsible and accountable for all aspects of operations.

 

The successful candidate will possess a passion for patient and family centred care, continuous improvement, and commitment to learning, the ability to build collaborative relationships and have a participative management style. The Director will provide leadership consistent with the LEADS framework, and will be an excellent communicator, facilitator, coordinator and manager. The incumbent will have a degree in health services, leadership or business administration with a minimum of five years’ experience in health care management. A minimum of 5 to 7 years of previous clinical experience within a leadership capacity is desirable. Current registration with CAMRT/SAMRT or equivalent will be an asset.
