The Veterinary Medical Centre (VMC) is looking for a certified Radiation Therapist interested in providing casual relief coverage within our radiation oncology department.    This individual will assist in treatment planning, administer radiation therapy, counsel families of pets on side effects of radiation therapy and keep records of radiation therapy protocols for veterinary radiation patients.

Salary Range is $24.78 to $38.72 per hour (Specialist/Professional, Phase 1).  The salary will be commensurate with education and experience. 

Education: Must have diploma in Radiation Therapy Technology from a recognized/accredited radiation therapy program; current certification for the Saskatchewan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists and the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists. 

Experience:  Minimum of one year full time experience as a qualified Radiation Therapist.

Skills:  Excellent proven interpersonal/communication skills both written and verbal; demonstrated initiative, independent decision making and organizational skills; ability to remain focused and accurately carry out treatment protocols in a busy work environment; ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality during interaction with referring veterinary professionals and with clients;  ability to work closely with companion animals; and knowledge and experience with: Varian Eclipse Treatment Planning software, radiation dose calculation for electron and photon beams, patient set-up and immobilization devices.
